Friday Rant

Instead of a Five on Friday post, I NEED. Friday rant.

1. Why is it when I seem to ask my boss for help, I get penalized? OR why am I the only one who works the late shift when I have class in the morning?

2. So let me get this straight ... You don't help out, you quit because you won't get promoted AND you bash the company on Facebook BUT you're given the Hawaii and Australia ship and offered a promotion WHEN the office KNOWS you have been bashing them? Wait ... What??

3. Fitness pre testing today was VERY demoralizing! I thought I'd be in a better position since I go to the gym 5-6 days a week ... WRONG! Good thing I have 13 weeks to improve & that conditioning will start TOMORROW!

End rant ....

What day is it?

I have literally checked my phone to see what day it is about 20 times today! I wake up, go to work, go to the gym, shower, sleep and REPEAT. I've been on the night shift lately which honestly hasn't left me to do much at all, including blogging. All I know, is it's September haha!

Anyways ... here's catching up on my 30DBC

DAY NINE
WHAT IS IN YOUR BAG/WALLET
The question should be, what isn't in my bag? So my bag is from Fossil and right now it currently holds, my wallet, notebook for work, Advil, water bottle, a few lip sticks and lip balm, my name tag for work, a few pens, my pocket calendar, some make up and my passport. My wallet is Vera Bradley and it just contains cards, a few foreign currency notes, and A LOT of change. I never usually carry bills on me.

DAY TEN
BEST TRIP OF YOUR LIFE
Well, this one is a difficult one to answer considering I spent two years working for a cruise ship. Honestly, I would have to say anywhere I went in the last two years of my life. Check out my "On The Map" tab! :)

DAY ELEVEN
10 FAVORITE FOODS
Pizza, fettucine alfredo, strawberries, greek yogurt, turkey, chicken, mini wheats, crunchy peanut butter, popcorn and tacos

DAY TWELVE
YOUR FAVORITE CHILDHOOD BOOK
Oh goodness, I don't even remember what books I read as a child. The only one that comes to mind, probably because I actually did read it a lot was Rainbow Fish (I think that's the name). It had the blue cover with the fish with the shiny scales ....

DAY THIRTEEN
WHAT'S INSIDE YOUR FRIDGE
Seriously, this is a question? Well, the usual - milk, soy milk (for me), eggs, condiments, salad dressings, veggies, fruits, soda, cheese, left overs, pickles, sour cream, chip dip, water ..

DAY FOURTEEN
3 HEALTHY HABITS
I would have to say limiting my soda intake, reading/coloring to relax and de stress and exercising as much as I can

DAY FIFTEEN
WHERE WILL YOU BE IN 5 YEARS
I would LIKE to have an actual career job, married with children and most of all, HappY!

DAY SIXTEEN
THOUGHTS ON EDUCATION
*Anything said here is solely MY own personal opinion*
I believe education is very important and everyone and every child should have the right to a proper education. I don't believe that you should have to pay for primary and secondary education. I also think tuition is WAY too high for post-secondary education, and in order to secure a decent job where you can survive on the pay, you need an education. Well, don't make it so damn expensive and we won't have an issue.

Day 8

DAY EIGHT
5 CURRENT GOALS

ONE - To continue to lose weight, tone up and eat better and get to my goal weight

TWO - If all goes well, to maintain my high honor status and high GPA

THREE - To save more money. I have been good lately, but I can definitely be better!

FOUR - To stop being so negative. I stress myself out too easily and that hasn't been the best thing for me. I know it's easier said than done and I have things coming up that just naturally stress me out, BUT, I need to learn how to just "go with the flow" and let things just be the way they are. One day at a time ...

FIVE - To prove certain people wrong about a certain situation

So What Wednesday [11]

Here we again on HUMP DAYYYY and another SWW post.

This week I'm saying SO WHAT if ...

➜ I loved the fact that it wasn't 100 degrees outside today when I left work. I am SO looking forward to fall weather! I mean, for two years I lived in shorts and bathing suits (not complaining though!)

➜ I am ALMOST at a decision, not 100% there, but ALMOST

➜ This is all I can think about today

➜ I am probably going to be in bed by 10pm tonight. Sometimes you just need it

➜ I am too hard on myself when it comes to certain things like school and grades

➜ This may be SLIGHTLY true ...

➜ I am looking forward to SharkWeekend. A mini "Shark Week"? Yes please!

➜ I learn the hard way .. at least I learn right?

What are you guys saying SO WHAT to today?

Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip

I have always wanted to try and make a buffalo chicken dip but I have never gotten around to it, UNTIL, the other day. While browsing Pinterest (I need a life), I came across a skinny version of the recipe and decided to give a chance.

Gimme Some Oven is the website that I found the recipe on and it was SO EASY and FAST to make!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 oz. (half a block) reduced-fat (or fat-free) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup shredded part-skim Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (I prefer Frank's)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled light blue cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. ranch seasoning (optional)
  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken

DIRECTIONS:

TO MAKE IN THE OVEN:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, stir all ingredients together until well-mixed. Transfer mixture to a small greasedbaking dish, and bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the edges begin to slightly brown. Remove and serve immediately.

It was hard for me to find crumbled light blue cheese, but eventually I did. I also added a little bit more blue cheese to the top before I put it in the oven. The website has other ways of making it, like on the stove or in a crock pot. I happen to think I outdid myself with this!! It was amazing and definitely better than any of the restaurants I have tried. I found it a little too spicy for me, so next time I think I will cut down on the Frank's a bit. Other than that, if you are a Buffalo anything fan like me, you NEED to try this and definitely let me know! :)
