Day 8

DAY EIGHT
5 CURRENT GOALS

ONE - To continue to lose weight, tone up and eat better and get to my goal weight

TWO - If all goes well, to maintain my high honor status and high GPA

THREE - To save more money. I have been good lately, but I can definitely be better!

FOUR - To stop being so negative. I stress myself out too easily and that hasn't been the best thing for me. I know it's easier said than done and I have things coming up that just naturally stress me out, BUT, I need to learn how to just "go with the flow" and let things just be the way they are. One day at a time ...

FIVE - To prove certain people wrong about a certain situation

So What Wednesday [11]

Here we again on HUMP DAYYYY and another SWW post.

This week I'm saying SO WHAT if ...

➜ I loved the fact that it wasn't 100 degrees outside today when I left work. I am SO looking forward to fall weather! I mean, for two years I lived in shorts and bathing suits (not complaining though!)

➜ I am ALMOST at a decision, not 100% there, but ALMOST

➜ This is all I can think about today

➜ I am probably going to be in bed by 10pm tonight. Sometimes you just need it

➜ I am too hard on myself when it comes to certain things like school and grades

➜ This may be SLIGHTLY true ...

➜ I am looking forward to SharkWeekend. A mini "Shark Week"? Yes please!

➜ I learn the hard way .. at least I learn right?

What are you guys saying SO WHAT to today?

Skinny Buffalo Chicken Dip

I have always wanted to try and make a buffalo chicken dip but I have never gotten around to it, UNTIL, the other day. While browsing Pinterest (I need a life), I came across a skinny version of the recipe and decided to give a chance.

Gimme Some Oven is the website that I found the recipe on and it was SO EASY and FAST to make!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 oz. (half a block) reduced-fat (or fat-free) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup shredded part-skim Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (I prefer Frank's)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled light blue cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. ranch seasoning (optional)
  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken

DIRECTIONS:

TO MAKE IN THE OVEN:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, stir all ingredients together until well-mixed. Transfer mixture to a small greasedbaking dish, and bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the edges begin to slightly brown. Remove and serve immediately.

It was hard for me to find crumbled light blue cheese, but eventually I did. I also added a little bit more blue cheese to the top before I put it in the oven. The website has other ways of making it, like on the stove or in a crock pot. I happen to think I outdid myself with this!! It was amazing and definitely better than any of the restaurants I have tried. I found it a little too spicy for me, so next time I think I will cut down on the Frank's a bit. Other than that, if you are a Buffalo anything fan like me, you NEED to try this and definitely let me know! :)

30DBC - Day 5 & 6

You know when everything goes wrong and not one thing goes your way? Yeah, that was my day yesterday. One thing after another and it never seemed to stop. I had my step brother's birthday and step sister's graduation party and usually they can cheer me up, but nope, not yesterday. I didn't even get to post my TSC and I had time, just didn't want to "adult" yesterday.

DAY FIVE
YOUR PROUDEST MOMENTS

I would have to say my proudest moment, so far, would be graduating with High Honors (3.94 GPA) from a highly competitive and difficult program - Animal Health. I was never very good with math and science in high school and was very nervous when I started the program because of that. I never thought that I would have graduated with that GPA, ever, let alone from that program. I worked my butt off and developed new study and note taking techniques which has helped me with other programs. On the other hand, I have set a very high bar for myself and I'm already hard enough on myself as it is.

DAY SIX
WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF

Heights, bugs/spiders (because they deserve their own mention), storms, being near or in the woods at night

30DBC - Day 4

DAY FOUR
YOUR DREAM JOB

My ultimate dream job would have to be marine mammal veterinarian BUT, unfortunately, I think it will always just be a dream job. My second passion is Law so IDEALLY, combining animals and the law into one, may work.

30DBC - Day 3

DAY THREE
YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE

I have A LOT of favorite quotes and I don't think I can list them all but here are a few ....

"There's heroes and there's legends. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Follow your heart kid and you'll never go wrong" - Sandlot

"At the end of the day, you will not remember the person with the most beautiful face, but you will remember the person with the most beautiful heart" - Anon

"Be who you are, not who the world wants you to be" - Anon

"Don't judge my choices if you don't understand my reasons" - Anon

"Unless you puke, faint, or die, keep going" - Jillian Michaels

"A diamond is a chunk of coal that did well under pressure" - Henry Kissinger

"Just keep moving forward and don't give a shit about what anybody thinks. Do what you to do, for you" - Johnny Depp

"Everybody looks at you strange and say you've changed, like you came all this way to stay the same" - Anon

"Success isn't given, it's earned. On the track, on the field, in the gym. With blood, sweat, and the occasional tear" - Nike

"You can't lose something you've never had" - How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

"You only live once, might as well be a badass" - Anon

"They told me I can't, I told them just watch" - Anon

Five on Friday

GOOD LORD - I just finished my first work out since being sick for about two and a half weeks and let me tell you, it was DIFFICULT! It felt nice though, that's for sure.

Linking up with A Liz Adventures for this Friday's edition of FOF.

ONE
Am I the only one who has fallen victim to the world of coloring for adults?? It's so addicting and relaxing! I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I look forward to my daily "coloring". Some pages take me longer than others and some days I can get through more than ones.

TWO
Sinister 2 comes out tonight and I CANNOT wait to see it!!! I think I may wait a week or two, to avoid the crowds and children on summer break. I saw, well through my fingers, the first one in theatres, and to this day, I still cannot watch it after dark because it terrifies me.

THREE
We all know I LOVE to binge watch shows and I cannot stop watching Blue Bloods and now I may or  may not have a crush on Donnie Wahlberg and Tom Selleck. And to be honest, I have no idea why I can't stop watching. Maybe I want to find out if Erin ends up with her boss.

FOUR
I have recently taken an interest in Muay Thai Kick Boxing. Has anyone taken these classes? It seems very interesting and it never hurts to learn a little self defence right?

FIVE
Has anyone else seen or even tried the Breadstick Sanwiches from Olive Garden?? Apparently, according to my brother, they've been out for a while but I haven't heard nor seen the commercial.

30 Day Blog Challenge (30DBC)- Day 2

DAY TWO
TWENTY FACTS ABOUT YOU

1. I have a younger brother, two older half brothers, a step brother and step sister. Still the only girl in the immediate family though ;)

2. I'm 5'1" so trying to reach anything on the top shelf does become a workout

3. I also have small feet ranging from a 3 kids to 5 ladies. Trying to find heels is quite the challenge

4. I was a competitive/recreational dancer for about 20 years studying ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern and hip hop. I also spent about 7 years in competitive cheerleading as well

5. I've graduated from two post secondary programs and probably moving on to the my third, and let's be honest, not last

6. My favorite foods are tacos, Pizza Hut Pizza, anything with chocolate, cookie dough and chicken fingers

7. My morning "routine" consists of checking all my social media accounts like they're the morning newspaper

8. I love binge watching shows and movies and can watch the same few movies over and over again and never get sick of it

9. My favorite colors are lime green, baby blue and black (yes, I know black is technically not a color)

10. The accuracy of horoscopes scare me

11. Even though I have seen it a million times, Titanic still makes me cry

12. I have to have at least one tea a day

13. I can carry on a conversation made up entirely of movie quotes

14. I have quite the collection of running shoes, hoodies and nail polish

15. Even at the age of 26, storms still scare me

16. I never really liked the idea of living in the country and thought of myself as a total city girl. However, the more time spent in the country and the busier the damn city gets, I have fallen in love with living in the country and hopefully one day will

17. I have a cat named Kittens and treat her like she's my child

18. I have to have dessert after dinner, even if it's the smallest thing, but it's a must!

19. I would rather spend a Friday and Saturday night in the gym than in a bar or club

20. I have been in, and placed, in a few Regional and National Pageants. They taught me a lot and I would never do it again.

30 Day Blog Challenge

We all know I love a good "survey", quiz or blog challenge and while browsing Pinterest, I came across this AND since I feel I need to post more, this is probably going to help. I will be posting other things and random posts as well, but this will be at least included in the post or on it's own. Hope you guys enjoy :)

DAY ONE
YOUR BLOG'S NAME

I chose "Beautiful Blonde Disaster" because that's how I feel 95% of the time. I am NOT one of those girls whose believes or thinks they are beautiful in any way, so I wasn't sure how to feel about including the word Beautiful. However, beautiful disaster explains me to a T and it flows. On the outside, it may look like I have my sh*t together, but really, I don't and sometimes I feel like such a mess.

The "Blonde" comes from the fact that I was born a natural blonde and I've been blonde for about 25 years. It's just in the last few years I've recently changed my hair color from blonde to dark. Sometimes the up keep on blonde is just too much.

So What Wednesday [10]

It's been a while since I did a SWW post and I cannot figure out why it's been so difficult to take the time on a Wednesday. Oh well, I made a promise to blog more and so far, I think I've been holding up to that!

This week I'm saying SO WHAT IF ...

I am enjoying being on vacation and would rather be on a "permanent vacation" than having to work? Doesn't everyone though?

➜ I am ADDICTED to Blue Bloods and now in love with Donnie Wahlberg

➜ I am looking forward to Fall weather because of Fall fashion AND pumpkin everything!

➜ This has been my mood lately, literally, no lies ....
➜ I have a list of "comfort movies" that I watch whenever I  am feeling upset or anything along those lines

➜ I change my nail polish color every week

➜ I have been sleeping in a little lately. Either way, in a few weeks I won't have the privilege of sleeping in, so mine as well take advantage of it now, right?

➜ I am now addicted to "adult coloring"! It's been a great way for me to "de stress" and take my mind off of things. My brother's girlfriend gave me a few coloring pages, but I went through those faster than I thought so yesterday, I went out and purchased some books of my own. This will definitely keep me busy for the next few weeks. AND, I am looking forward to Johanna Basford releasing her new book Lost Ocean. I won't be close to finished these ones before that one comes out but it's my goal to have all three of her books (Secret Garden, Enchanted Forest and Lost Ocean) and COMPLETE them. And ... I'm sure she'll keep coming out with more. I guess I found a new way to "spend my money" - oh boy!

➜ I surprise myself sometimes. So far, this is my favorite page that I have finished

➜ I am thinking of trying Kayla Itsines BBG. Has anyone tried it? Thoughts?

➜ I may be addicted to eggs and Franks Hot Sauce now! I needed to switch it up as eating plain and boring eggs was starting to get boring

What are you guys saying SO WHAT to this Wednesday?

The Alphabet Game

While browsing my Bloglovin' feed while enjoying my usual cup of tea in the morning, I came across Running with Spoons and her A to Z "survey". If you know me, you know I am a sucker for these types of things so here it goes ... Enjoy! :)

A - AGE: As much as I would love to say I'm still 19, I'm actually 26 .. and a half.

B - BIGGEST FEAR: Heights, bugs and needles

C - CURRENT TIME: 4:09pm on a Monday

D - DRINK YOU HAD LAST: Decaf orange pekoe tea. I don't think the amount of tea I have during the day would be considered healthy

E - EASIEST PERSON TO TALK TO: If I absolutely have to talk to someone, it's usually my mom or a few select friends

F - FAVORITE SONG: I don't have one favorite song, it change all the time. Usually, I have a song of the moment and right now it would be Look Good For You by Selena Gomez

G - GROSSEST MEMORY: It didn't actually happen to me but when my brother and I were younger, my mom would take us up north to our cottage and we had a dock that everyone would fish from. Well, my brother went to cast out (I think that's proper terminology) and instead of casting out into the water, his hook went right into my moms arm. The worst part, my mom never felt a thing.

H - HOMETOWN: A nice little town in Southern Ontario, Canada

I - IN LOVE WITH: The fact that fall weather is coming up which means fall FASHION! I am a summer girl but when it comes to fashion, I prefer fall over any season!

J - JEALOUS OF:  My brother and his girlfriend who are sitting at Avondale Dairy Bar enjoying the best ice cream. For those of you who don't know or who have never heard of Avondale Dairy Bar, it's NOT your corner Avondale store. This place makes their own ice cream and has literally more flavors than BR and flavors you couldn't even think of. It's a staple summer tradition down here.

K - KINDEST PERSON YOU KNOW: I know a lot of kind people so it wouldn't be fair for me to say just one person

L - LONGEST RELATIONSHIP: 6 years

M - MIDDLE NAME: I actually have two middle names but I won't tell you both. The first one starts with an M and the second one is actually Sophia and I love that name

N - NUMBER OF SIBLINGS: I have a younger brother, two older brothers, a step brother and step sister. BUT, in the immediate family, I am the only girl

O - ONE WISH: That every time I pinned something on Pinterest it went right into my closet at home AND, let's be real and honest, that I could eat whatever I wanted without gaining weight

P - PERSON YOU SPOKE TO LAST ON THE PHONE: Someone about setting up an appointment later on this week

Q - QUESTION YOU'RE ALWAYS ASKED: "Are you okay", "How do I get your job" and "Is it fun working on a cruise ship"

R - REASON TO SMILE: Everything and anything

S - SONG YOU LAST SANG: Whistle While You Work It by Katy Tiz. No idea why that song came to my mind but I haven't stopped singing in since yesterday

T - TIME I WOKE UP: Today, I believe it was around 8:45am

U - UNDERWEAR COLOR: Black

V - VACATION DESTINATION: The only sort of "vacation" plans I have as of now, would be heading out to Cali for my next contract and that ship is based out of Long Beach and goes to Catalina Island, Cabo and another small island in Mexico

W - WORST HABIT: Oh dear, where do I begin! I would have to say swearing and binge watching shows

X - X RAYS YOU'VE HAD: The emergency room used to be my second home. Most of these injuries come from 20 years of dancing, 7 years of cheerleading and 6 years of soccer. My back, my nose, my toe/foot, chest and neck. So pretty much everything

Y - YOUR FAVORITE FOOD: Pizza, anything with chocolate and anything with cookie dough

Z - ZODIAC SIGN: Scorpio and it happens to be very accurate

If you guys end up doing this yourself, leave a comment and let me know so I can check it out :)

#MotivationalMonday

Sunday Currently - Aug 16 v.33

Here we are yet again, another Sunday. I can't believe there are only three more Sunday's left in August. Where does the time go?

Linking up with Siddathornton for this edition.

C U R R E N T L Y

READING: Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

WRITING: This edition os TSC and many pro/con lists

MUSIC:  Song(s) of the moment - Look Good For You by Selena Gomez

LISTENING: To a movie on TV. I will admit, it's The Blair Witch Project. It came across on my feed and I haven't seen it in so long ... thought, why not! No judging please.

GUILTY PLEASURE: This week hasn't been too bad but I had the best champagne and strawberry cupcake last night at a family party. I think that tops the list!

THINKING: As usual, my mind is everywhere. Do I do this, do that, don't do that ... it's horrible!

NAIL COLOR: Love Potion - Sephora by O.P.I

DRINK: Orange pekoe tea

FOOD: Haven't really had anything to eat yet, but definitely thinking Pizza Hut for dinner. Sundays are made for movie marathons and pizza right??

SMELLING: Nothing

HOPING: For a sign in the next few days about which direction I should head in

TV SHOW: I started to watch Blue Bloods the other day and I am quite surprised. I wasn't planning on getting hooked half way through the first episode but now, I can't stop watching. And, uhm, HELLO Donnie Wahlberg! Have any of you watched this show?

WEARING: Comfortable pants and tee

LOVING: Last night my brother and I attended a birthday for a very close family friend. We saw people we haven't seen in so long and it was SO SO nice catching up with everyone. It's funny how people turn into your family and even though you may not see them all the time or even talk all the time, when you're together, it's like no time has passed at all.

WISH LIST: To be able to get back into my work out routine. Whatever I have been dealing with the last little while hasn't really given me "motivation" and I would like it back, ASAP!

NEEDING: To make up my mind. I know, it seems like every time I write a TSC post, I need to make up my mind on some issue. However, this isn't an easy decision to make and for some reason, I cannot feel confident when I think I have made up my mind.

BLESSING: Everyone in my life

FEELING: Hopeful and optimistic

CLICKING: They keyboard and PS3 controller

EXCITEMENT: Our annual CNE trip is coming up next weekend which usually marks the end of summer, unofficially

What did you guys get up to this weekend? Enjoy your Sunday!

Friday, August 14, 2015

Five on Friday

Here's to another weekend and I hope it's enjoyable. I have a family birthday to attend tomorrow night so I am looking forward to seeing some people I haven't seen in a long time. In the next few weeks, things will slowly start to fall into place, one way or another and to be honest, I am looking forward to some consistency.

Linking up with A Liz Adventures for today's edition of FOF.

ONE
I am slowly starting to get over this week long "stomach flu/bug" or whatever it is I've come down with. It's been a very long week and I am still not able to eat a full meal. I'm run down and exhausted and cannot wait to get over this.

TWO
I FINALLY gave in and purchased my first Lilly Pulizter agenda for 2015-2016 season. I had such a difficult time deciding what planner I wanted and what size to get. They have small, medium, large and jumbo and in so many beautiful patterns. I decided to go with the Jumbo as I usually have a ton to write in, whether it be in the monthly view or weekly view. Shipping was fast, and free, which was nice. It came in and let me tell you, I am HOOKED on these agendas! The size is perfect for what I need and has a lot of space for me to write in whatever I need. The pattern is bright, the pages are colorful and it's honestly so easy to navigate through. I am looking forward to using it :)

THREE
Yesterday my brother and I decided to spend the day in Toronto. Well, the fact I had an appointment up  there kind of helped our decision as well. We had beautiful weather so after my appointment, we went downtown and walked around and eventually ended up at the Eaton Centre. We ventured into the new Hudson's Bay store and I FELL IN LOVE! I wish our Hudson's Bay down here was like that. Okay, maybe not because then I would never see a paycheque. On our walk, we came across Nathan Phillips Square where they are setting up for the closing ceremonies of the ParaPan Am Games. It was actually interesting to see in person than on TV. Have any of you been watching the games?

FOUR
I think I may have accidentally found out who A is! I avoided all social networking for two days and then while browsing Instagram three days later, I saw something about who A is and let me tell you, if that is true, I am going to be very disappointed. I still haven't watched the final two episodes so I don't know what happened, but apparently, I am still in for a shock

FIVE
This explains it all ...
