Favorite Things - November Goals

First off, I am going to apologize for the all the posts that I have added today. I should really find a way to do them all at once - any suggestions on how to do that?

It is November 1 and that means it's time for me to set my monthly goals. This month might not have as many since I believe that these are huge goals in themselves. I am hoping I can stay on top of these while I am away but if I don't post about them, I will be writing them down and the posting on here when I get the chance. I find this is a very interesting and healthy thing for me to do.

// November Goals \\

Spend as much time with my family as I can before I leave

Pack as efficiently as I can

Find everything I need without a struggle

Have a good week or two training at my new job and be able to settle into "ship life" with ease

To know that I made the right decision with taking this job and it will be for the best in the end

Feel confident in performing the duties of my new job

Start using the gym on board

Make new friends from around the world

October Goals - Update

As I mentioned on my "Favorite Things" page, I was going to have monthly goals and then see which ones I was able to achieve. Here were my monthly goals and results for October:

// OCTOBER GOALS \\
 Visit the pumpkin patch - Completed on October 18th

Read at least three novels - I completed two!

Lose one to three pounds and keep it off - Haven't kept it off :(

Eat healthier - I have been eating a little bit better. Slowly is better than not at all

Update my wardrobe - Again, another slow process but I'm getting there!

Have at least one candy apple - Completed October 19 and was DELICIOUS!

Collect Halloween candy, anyway - Took some from my mom yesterday!

Purchase some pumpkin flavored coffee - Definitely accomplished; thank you Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts!

Beat my brother in the pumpkin carving contest - He claims I didn't and my dad, who was the judge this year, liked both so maybe next year! Haha

Five on Friday - v.10

Hope everyone enjoyed their first day of November. Now that Halloween is over, I guess it's full swing into Christmas. I don't which is worse - the day after Halloween or the day after Christmas.

Linking up with A Liz Adventures for this weeks post.

O N E -- I finished up my last weekend and work and as I am sitting here writing this, it feels a little weird being home on a Friday night. My last shift was on Wednesday and afterwards, the group threw me a surprise going away party! It was so nice to see everyone there and I was so thankful for the party and for the lovely gift they were able to get me. I thought I would make it through my last shift without any tears and I was almost out of the door until one of my bosses came running out with the card I gave her. I knew why she was trying to find me and as soon as I saw her tears, then I started. I mean, the last six years these guys have been my second family. I will definitely miss each and every one of them!

T W O -- Halloween! This was the first year in a very long time that I did not dress up. Usually I work Halloween night and we dress up and then go out but this was the first year we didn't have a show and I was just so exhausted from running around all weekend, I just stayed home and had a horror movie marathon!

T H R E E -- My Free People O Maya Maxi came in sooner than expected!! It was a great way to start of this week. To my surprise, it fit great! It will have to be shortened, of course, but other than that, very impressed!

F O U R -- I FINALLY FOUND THEM!! I was on the hunt for these babies for a long time and then I was walking passed an aisle at Wal Mart and bam! there they were!! Best thing since sliced bread!! Next up, sugar cookie!

F I V E --

Enjoy your weekend!

Reflection....

....On the past six years.

Tomorrow is my last day at work and these past few days, I can't help but reflect on everything in the last six years. I started this job when I was 18 and on a day off, I couldn't go see a show where I worked because it was a legal age event. When I first started, I was a shy girl who took some time to "get of her shell". After a while, I started to get to know everyone and I became the girl who would "never shut up" - well I am kidding but I definitely came out of my shell.

I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know 50+ people over the course of these six years. Some more than others, but all wonderful people nonetheless. Some left to pursue other careers and I always knew I would be one of those few. I always thought that I would be leaving because of a career job or I would have gone to a grad school out of town. Never did I think I would be leaving for this reason. It hasn't hit me yet but I think it will when this weekend I'm not getting up and putting on that "beautiful" uniform and watching concerts.

Each person I have met and basically grew up with has helped me become who I am today. I have learned many valuable things that I will take with me no matter where I go. Like every job, there were some negative things and negative lessons that I learned a long the way, but it wouldn't be interesting if it was all positive would it? My supervisors took some chances with me when they promoted me to a Dual Supervisor which really meant a lot to me because they had the faith that I could do the job with a staff of 50+ of a very busy concert venue. Through that role, I was able to learn and grow as a person without a doubt.

Aside from all the personal lessons, I was able to see and meet some pretty interesting people and concerts. There are a few that stick out in my mind like Keith Urban, Sugarland (twice!), Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins etc ...(country fan can't you tell?!) Everyone says that they would love that job and to be honest, they are all right. It is such a great job with such a wonderful group of people, I will without a doubt miss it SO SO much.

We always find ourselves complaining about the small things and never realizing what we have until it's gone. I would not change A THING that has happened in the last six years and I can only hope that this new adventure allows me to have a "family" like I have had at this job.
