In my drugstore bag!

Since I am somewhat new to this whole idea of blogging, I have been reading other blogs and I have seen some pretty interesting posts and designs. I have come across a thing that a few people do that I thought was really interesting and it may help my readers who may not be following or reading the same blogs that I am. It's something called "Drugstore Haul". I first came across it on Lauren's blog and thought what she did was really interesting. So here is my first edition of what I call "In my drugstore bag".

Wal-Mart or Shoppers Drug Mart are my usual "go-to" stores, however, just recently they have built a Target down the street from my house. The fact that this Target is not across town like the Wal-Mart is, the fact that there is a Starbucks in it and the wide range of products, I have now become a Target girl. I usually plan to go in for one or two things - I end up leaving with a lot more. Here is a list of things that I picked up from Target last Thursday.

Up & Up Make-Up Remover Cloths - By the time I am ready to head to bed, I try to do whatever I can to make my bedtime routine as smooth and quickly as possible. I have been using make up removing cloths, along with eye make up remover. I used to buy the brand name cloths, however, I found that the store brand ones work just as well - along with having more for the price. I haven't tried the up & up brand yet, as I am still finishing my other pack, but after reading reviews, they seem to work just the same as other brands. I find the cloths remove make up quickly and easily and do not leave my face feeling dry or oily.

Essie Nail Polish - I have an obsession and addiction to nail polish and painting my nails. I change the color every week. As I mentioned earlier in this post, I am a new Target "lover" and just recently found that they put Essie nail polish on sale in the store here. I knew they did in American stores, but I wasn't sure in Canadian stores. Let me tell you how happy I was. I came across two colors that I fell in love with that were on sale. Shake your $$ Maker & DJ Play That Song. I am currently wearing Shake your $$ maker and I love the color. I had to use 3 coats to get the strong bold color that I like, but it was well worth it.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss - Alongside nail polish, I am a lip gloss and lip stick addict as well. I have seen Baby Lips around for a while and just thought it was another product. However, after reading reviews and hearing my friends talk about it, I thought I would try it out. I AM HOOKED! I have already purchased three, but I am currently using Peach Kiss. This lip gloss has SPF 20 in it, which is a great thing for me since I am very fair skinned so I burn easily. It keeps my lips moist for longer than 2 minutes like some other glosses and it gives them a nice color along with a soft texture.

Maybelline Volum 'Express Colossal Mascara' in Glam Black - Before this mascara, I would try every kind and every brand that was available in the store. I could never find a mascara that would do what I wanted - no clumps and extend the length of my eyelashes. I finally found the one and I haven't used a different mascara in a few years. I swear by this! I love the length it gives my eye lashes, which are not very long to begin with, and it doesn't clump. I find that I don't have to apply many coats as well, usually one or two and I am good to go. I receive a lot of compliments on my eyelashes when I am wearing it, my favorite being from an artist at Sephora who said I have beautiful eyes and the mascara helps them "pop".

CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation and Concealer - I was in the same boat with foundation and concealer as I was with mascara. I tried every brand and every kind until I came across this brand. I haven't used anything else for a few years now. I had a difficult time finding something that would cover up imperfections, match the color of my skin and not leave a "heavy" feeling. This foundation and concealer has it all. It applies easily, covers up imperfections, doesn't leave your skin feeling heavy or shiny/oily. The color also matches my shade of skin perfectly - which is usually difficult for me. This foundation and concealer also doesn't clog pores which is another great benefit. On a monthly basis, I will get compliments on my skin as well. I just tell them that it's the make up I use which really helps give me that "flawless" look. The only time I won't have that "flawless" look is if I am rushing through application, I am breaking out or I am REALLY tired. Aside from that, this is my go to foundation and concealer and I won't try or use anything else - for now.

Dove Beauty Sheer Touch Skin Renew in Clear Tone Deodorant - Dove is my staple go to brand for deodorant. I usually use Clear Tone or the Ultimate. All I can say about this product is that it ACTUALLY DOES WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL DO. Keep in mind, everyone is different, but for me, it holds true to what it says.

So that's what was in my drugstore bag this week. The things that I post about each product are my comments and opinions only and will differ from each person. I will update and post each time I go, hopefully with different and new products. Some things that I use are my "staple pieces" but I usually buy more than one different product each time. If you want to find out more information about these products, you can always visit the Target website, which is where I purchased all these products.

Hope you enjoyed reading! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

  1. I've been hooked on Baby Lips ever since I first tried it. I think I have six (maybe 7?) different ones! I saw that Covergirl has a new product called Smoochies that looks a lot like Baby Lips. I wanna try one to see how it compares. Fun blog post!
