Product Review - Garnier Pure Shine Control Lotion

I use this product a lot and I thought that maybe I should write a review about it - please keep in mind this review is based solely on my opinion and is not affiliated with the product.

At my job we are usually working out butts off trying to seat 1500 people in about five minutes. Needless to say, at the end of the five minutes we always felt like we just finished a workout. I was always noticing that I would end up with shiny skin and I didn't really like the look at all. I found this product and decided to give it a try. The product is supposed to matify your skin and provide a "fresh and clean" look. I figured if this could work after a night at work, it would be a keeper. It DEFINITELY does what it says it does (for me anyway). I put it on right before I apply my make up. At first I found it made my make up feel "heavy" but I think I wasn't waiting long enough for it to dry because now I don't have that "heavy"feeling and I have been waiting longer. The only downfall I find is that I have to be really careful about applying my make up because it can sometimes leave streaks and lines. Other than that, it works beautifully! After a night at a work, it looks like I just applied my make up. It doesn't leave your skin shiny and oily and I find after using it, my skin feels better and looks better.

My mom had the same issue and she tried every product there was. I gave her a bit of this and she said this is the only thing that works for her! So if you're in the same position and need to find a new product, try this out!

The Sunday Currently - Oct 6 v.8

Welcome to the first October edition of TSC. Hope everyone had a great first week of October. Mine was filled with birthday celebrations as my brother turned 23 on Wednesday. I cannot believe he is 23 already ... wow, how time flies! I am linking up with Lauren as my usual Sunday link up.

Reading: Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

Writing: This post and many new lists of things I need to do for my new job and what to buy and pack. It seems like it's never ending

Music: Current song of the moment would have to be Royals by Lorde

Listening: To a movie on the television

Guilty Pleasure: At home pumpkin spice coffee from Starbucks

Thinking: That I really do not want to go into work tonight and how I would much rather stay at home and be lazy

Nail Color: For The Twill Of It by Essie. Excuse the messiness of my nails, still trying perfect the art of it.

Smelling: Laundry

Drink: My usual decaf orange pekoe tea

Wishing: I could have slept in a little longer today than I did

Food: Just finished a bowl of Lucky Charms

Hoping: That I can get everything done that I need to get done easily and without hassle

TV Show: I finished Hemlock Grove and I am so confused at how it ended. It had a VERY well written ending, so now of course, I am super excited for Season 2

Wearing: Pajama pants and a tee

Loving: That I finally made a decision as to what I am doing. I kind of feel "lighter", if that makes any sense. Now, I just have to deal with the roller coaster of emotions that will come along with this decision

Wish List: I actually have quite the wish list now that I need to buy a few things for my new job, but aside from that, some more at home pumpkin spice coffee (think I have an addiction!)

Wanting: To stay home today, even though I only have a few more shifts left so maybe I should change my feelings towards going into work for the next little while

Needing: To clean my room; always seems to get messy when I work, how I have no idea

Blessing: That I have been able to have the job I have now for the last 6 years. I started when I was 18 and I am 24 and a half. I've pretty much grown up there and now I will be leaving to start a new journey in my life. A journey that a lot of people say they wish they would have done when they were my age

Feeling: Tired but nervous, excited and every emotion rolled into one about the journey I will soon be starting

Clicking: Keys on the keyboard

Excitement: Thanksgiving dinner next Monday!!

Enjoy the rest of Sunday and have a fabulous week :)

Five on Friday - v.6

Happy first Friday of October! I hope everyone had a wonderful first week. The weather was absolutely beautiful, except for today. I've never really liked any other season other than summer, however, this fall I am really starting to take a liking to it. The leaves are starting to change color and fall from the trees and people are starting to decorate for Halloween. Or maybe it's because this fall I have more of a "passion for fashion". Not that I never did before, I'm just paying more attention to fashion lately.

For this first post of FOF in October, I am linking up with A Liz Adventures

O N E - I finally found pumpkin spiced coffee for the home. I looked everywhere for anything pumpkin flavored and came up empty. I was getting disappointed because even certain Starbucks didn't have what I was looking for. I was ready to give up and then I found some! At the Starbucks in Target of all places. I was so excited and definitely made a cup when I got home and now it's all I'm drinking. Should have bought more than two packages!

T W O - Rainy days! There is something calming about rainy days, or so I think anyways. Being in pajamas all day, watching movies and having junk food. I don't spend all rainy days like this, but today, that's exactly what I will be doing.

T H R E EMy new job that I still can't believe I have. I had to go renew my drivers license and health card today and I had to ask the lady how long it would take because I was leaving the country soon and when she asked me why, I think I could start to "feel" the realization (if that even makes sense) that it was happening. She told me that she was trying to talk to her son into doing the same thing because it's a wonderful opportunity for young people. The more people I tell, the more I hear about how much of wonderful opportunity it is and how lucky I am.

F O U R - Nothing screams fall like regular season hockey. Hockey has always been a big thing in my household, whether it be when my brother used to play to watching every game on television. When the game is on, there is no trying to talk to my brother or dad, they're in their zone. I usually watch the game with them but I'm not sure if I'm watching for the actual game or for the humor of my dad and brother.

F I V E - The message of this picture is SO TRUE. When I had to send the email back stating what day I would like to leave, I'm pretty sure I sat there with the written email forever trying to work up enough courage to hit "send". I had to keep telling myself these words ....

Have a great day and even better weekend :)

"The Email"

In previous posts I have mentioned something about waiting for "the email". Well, "the email" arrived and I can now say what it's about since it's official.

I will be leaving November 15th to start my new journey working with Carnival CL as Entertainment Staff. I am scared, excited and every emotion rolled into one. I've never done anything like this in my life and it's very much outside my comfort zone. My plan was to transfer to a school here and continue my studies, however, somethings came up and I have to do what I have to do. By doing this, I will be able to make it a lot easier on myself and everyone when I return to school.

It still hasn't hit me yet, even though I had to give my current job notice today. I don't think it will hit me until the actual day I leave. I really don't want to see my parents tear up at the airport, but they will be very proud of what I am doing. Now, I have to make all these lists about what to pack, take care of some banking issues etc. There's a lot to do in the next little while.

Since I'm also leaving before my birthday, I have to throw in some birthday celebrations before I leave and some major family time. My family also thinks I'm weird because I said that I am going to REALLY REALLY REALLY x100 miss my cat. She's actually mine, so it's like she's my kid and not a cat (yes, I'm weird I know haha). But I have to keep in mind why I am doing this and keep my end goal in mind.

I'll be going through a lot the next little while, some good and some bad. Some days I will more than likely change my mind, then the next day I will be excited. It's going to be a very big roller coaster of emotions that's for sure.

But as they say ... "Your life begins at the end of your comfort zone".

Favorite Things - October Goals

October 1st already! It feels like yesterday September started and now here I am counting down the days until Halloween (29 days btw!).

This is my first full edition of "Favorite Things". I said that I would post goals/ideas at the beginning of the month and then at the end, post whether I accomplished/did all I set out to do and my favorite things about that month. I'm looking forward to doing this, I think it will be interesting and it will keep me looking forward to things every month.

// OCTOBER GOALS \\
 Visit the pumpkin patch

Read at least three novels

Lose one to three pounds and keep it off

Eat healthier

Update my wardrobe

Have at least one candy apple

Collect Halloween candy, anyway

Purchase some pumpkin flavored coffee

Beat my brother in the pumpkin carving contest

They're all simple and small things but I thought it's better to start small than to not do something at all. Looking forward to see what I get accomplished!

Enjoy the rest of your week and the first day of October! Oh yes, hockey starts again tonight which means it will be an interesting few months in this household!
