Five on Friday

FINALLY have time to sit down and do things that I enjoy, like blogging. Everything has been so chaotic lately, but it's all slowly coming to an end.

Linking up with A Liz Adventures for todays edition of Five on Friday - enjoy!

ONE
At  my job, I can actually read and enjoy a good book when it's not too busy. However, it hasn't been the busiest yet since the weather is so nice, I've gone through two already. I decided to renew my library card sine I probably won't be able to purchase enough books to last me the season. I had such a good laugh - they still had "late fees" from books I had out in 2006, which was the last time I went to the library to take out a book. The fees were only $8, and I asked the librarian what the books were and they were something to do with raising a street smart child and the works of some psychologist. WHAT IN THE HELL would I be doing with those books in 2006, I was still in high school!

TWO
As you may have read from previous posts, I participate in the ever so popular adult coloring. It definitely is a great stress reliever. I was in Chapters yesterday and there were so many books I could have bought, but I am IN LOVE with Johanna Babsfords work. Here are some of the works I have completed the last little while.

THREE
While in Chapters, I made the obligatory stop at Starbucks for a skinny peppermint mocha. I've been reading a lot about the controversy of their red cups. I think we're taking away the actual and true meaning of Christmas, slowly, it's not about the color of a cup. There is a first time for eI verything though. It's the first time someone has spelled my name wrong at Starbucks - what?!

FOUR
My birthday is next week - AHHHH!!! Expect a "reflection" post sometime soon.

FIVE
I may or may not be watching Hocus Pocus right now. I didn't have a lot of time during the month of October to sit and watch it so I guess I'm making up for the time now. However, this movie is on year round in this household. You just don't touch the classics!

What is your Five on Friday?!

Missing it!

"You have to find that place that brings out the human in you. The love in you. The soul in you..."

For me, I think that place is out on the open ocean on a ship. Ever since I've been home, I haven't felt completely "at home" and I've been going through so many different emotions. Emotional roller coaster, definitely.

I miss 90 percent of what happens on a ship. The lounging nights in crew bar after a long day, the cabin movie nights, getting all dressed up for formal nights, hearing the stories the next day of what you may or may not have done or said, the closeness that comes over your team. Mind you, I don't miss the sleepiness nights or drama or missing home.

It's funny how that life takes over and it's all you know ...

Friday Rant

Instead of a Five on Friday post, I NEED. Friday rant.

1. Why is it when I seem to ask my boss for help, I get penalized? OR why am I the only one who works the late shift when I have class in the morning?

2. So let me get this straight ... You don't help out, you quit because you won't get promoted AND you bash the company on Facebook BUT you're given the Hawaii and Australia ship and offered a promotion WHEN the office KNOWS you have been bashing them? Wait ... What??

3. Fitness pre testing today was VERY demoralizing! I thought I'd be in a better position since I go to the gym 5-6 days a week ... WRONG! Good thing I have 13 weeks to improve & that conditioning will start TOMORROW!

End rant ....

What day is it?

I have literally checked my phone to see what day it is about 20 times today! I wake up, go to work, go to the gym, shower, sleep and REPEAT. I've been on the night shift lately which honestly hasn't left me to do much at all, including blogging. All I know, is it's September haha!

Anyways ... here's catching up on my 30DBC

DAY NINE
WHAT IS IN YOUR BAG/WALLET
The question should be, what isn't in my bag? So my bag is from Fossil and right now it currently holds, my wallet, notebook for work, Advil, water bottle, a few lip sticks and lip balm, my name tag for work, a few pens, my pocket calendar, some make up and my passport. My wallet is Vera Bradley and it just contains cards, a few foreign currency notes, and A LOT of change. I never usually carry bills on me.

DAY TEN
BEST TRIP OF YOUR LIFE
Well, this one is a difficult one to answer considering I spent two years working for a cruise ship. Honestly, I would have to say anywhere I went in the last two years of my life. Check out my "On The Map" tab! :)

DAY ELEVEN
10 FAVORITE FOODS
Pizza, fettucine alfredo, strawberries, greek yogurt, turkey, chicken, mini wheats, crunchy peanut butter, popcorn and tacos

DAY TWELVE
YOUR FAVORITE CHILDHOOD BOOK
Oh goodness, I don't even remember what books I read as a child. The only one that comes to mind, probably because I actually did read it a lot was Rainbow Fish (I think that's the name). It had the blue cover with the fish with the shiny scales ....

DAY THIRTEEN
WHAT'S INSIDE YOUR FRIDGE
Seriously, this is a question? Well, the usual - milk, soy milk (for me), eggs, condiments, salad dressings, veggies, fruits, soda, cheese, left overs, pickles, sour cream, chip dip, water ..

DAY FOURTEEN
3 HEALTHY HABITS
I would have to say limiting my soda intake, reading/coloring to relax and de stress and exercising as much as I can

DAY FIFTEEN
WHERE WILL YOU BE IN 5 YEARS
I would LIKE to have an actual career job, married with children and most of all, HappY!

DAY SIXTEEN
THOUGHTS ON EDUCATION
*Anything said here is solely MY own personal opinion*
I believe education is very important and everyone and every child should have the right to a proper education. I don't believe that you should have to pay for primary and secondary education. I also think tuition is WAY too high for post-secondary education, and in order to secure a decent job where you can survive on the pay, you need an education. Well, don't make it so damn expensive and we won't have an issue.
